shrimply I would have gotten the 300w but it only comes in 5/8" and my tube on the 2215 is 1/2" But i see the point of small cost difference.

Oh it fits trust me, takes a bit of lube, hot water and work but it fits

Sounds like it still has air in it. Give it a few taps and tilt from side to side and lots of little bubbles will come out the pipes- all my eheims are silent, but sometimes take a day or two to settle down after being opened.

I will keep that in mind on my next one, these, if they stand up over time are definitely the way to go.

Good to know, ill give it a shake and some time to clear out. only been up for maybe 11-12hrs now.

thanks for all the info guys

Those Eheims are reputed to be as quiet as my Renas. If I could actually hear one running in a dead quiet house, I would be looking into why. The only way I can tell is to place my hand on it and it is warm or stick my hand into the tank and feel the water flow. My own bet is like Lufbramatt's, it probably has bubbles in it.

I can confirm that was the case, I tilted it at about 45 degrees and made slow pivoted circles, many, many bubbles released and it quieted right down.
Thanks again to all
