Hey everyone. I have a new 26g bow front and I'm looking for a canister filter. The Eheim 2215 seems to be the best choice but I just wanted someone to confirm that it was a good idea before I drop the $$$. I heard that filters should move 5-6x the tank volume every hour. In this case I would need a 130-155 gph filter. The Eheim 2215 is a 165 gph filter. Will I be overdoing it or will this be ideal?

You won't be overdoing it. You can never have too much filtration, just sometimes problems with the amount of flow/current in your tank which is always fixable.

What is your budget?

Less than $120. I found an Eheim 2215 for $100 so i think I'm gonna go with that.

dare i suggest another - the fluval fx5 - IMO best filter around and hard to beat price wise
