How is it high risk, low reward? If they already have a Bristlenose their filter will be able to handle a small Candy Stripe which are much, much nicer than BN's... Or a Leopard Frog which are even nicer...

If they want a Pleco they need one that is actually recommended for 15 gallon tanks, not one that will get too big and messy.

Hmm, I might have to look into candy stripes. Sound quite nice. :)

They are. I was going to get a small group for my 20(technically 19) gallon but never got round to it  Gonna have to look in restocking my tank at some point.

they shouldnt get because whats they point of getting a fish to put it in its minimum size but whatever its just my 2 cents

Ha! Just read they can change color on their mood. Sounds like some weird toy from the 80s..... :p

I agree with nc guppy, I always want to do better than the bare minimum, :)

The bare minimum for both the Peckoltia's I mentioned is 10 gallons... So they aren't in bare minimum :) The bare minimum for the Chaetostoma is 15 gallons but I didn't recommend that one due to the cooler water and fast flow.

I wouldn't recommend for the bare minimum anyway. I wouldn't recommend them for 10 gallon tanks but I would for 15 gallons.

i still dont like reccomending plecos without the exact measuyrments in a tank thta small, sorry if i came of as rude in any way i just want what best for the fishes.

I know you do, you didn't come across as rude and I understand where you are coming from, I've done it myself before(as in, I've possibly sounded rude trying to do what's best for the fish before) - It's just I wouldn't recommend for the bare, bare minimum anyway. 15 gallons would be perfect for one or the other.

I do admit, I should have asked for the exact measurements first as the both need a minimum tank size of 30inch(76cm) long.
