Candy Cane Pleco

I'd love to know why you're so "graveley sceptical" ??
If you look at this pic on PlanetCatfish you can very clearly see the likeness to the OP's (unclear) pic.

Edit: in fact, if you look at the tail tips - you can see it looks a whole lot more like a Candy Striped Plec than a Clown Plec.
Oh, I'm not saying that they aren't alike; they certainly are!

And if you're going to look by tail tips alone then yes, ok, you can call it a candy striped pleco - but clown plecos have the same tail coloring. If you look at the body though, it has very thin ringss of yellow on a dark body, just like a clown pleco/ringlet pleco. You can't judge a fish by tail alone...

Oh I entirely agree - of course you cannot look at a tail alone - however in this pic that's about the only thing that's clear. It certainly also has a likeness to a clown plec....
Without a better picture, it's really hard to tell for sure one way or the other.

Forgive me, but I'm gravely skeptical of this statement.

Why are you skeptical? Have you seen my tank or my pl*cs?

Whether you're skeptical about whether it is a vittata or if it gets on with my nugget I don't know but both statements are accurate. The main LFS I use are very good with catfish and are known to label their stock well.

The synodontis I spoke about was labelled Synodontis angelicus which apparently grow close to 8" - should have made that clearer.

If I said to you "I have a fish that looks very much like a neon tetra, but it's a glo-light tetra" what would you think?

That's a shame. You really need to be open minded to the fact that you could be wrong, not for my sake, but for the sake of the fish and for it to thrive.

Who said I wasn't open minded ? I welcome all suggestions to what my fish is, if I am wrong, I will welcome a correct identification of them. I was just going by what my fish dealer said.

To all of those who have helped me correctly identify my pleco, THANK YOU.

I have done some research and found that I may have a Clown Pleco and I appreciate the help.
