Can You Identify This?

I had a similar mark on my Plec a while ago and was advised by another forum to try using anti internal bacteria med and it worked a treat. Not sure what caused it, within a week or so the marks had cleared. I had clown loaches and they were not harmed by med.

Thanks
Dave

Do you have the name of this med?

I know what your plec has, but first do you have any other plecs in the tank or sharp/rough decor? The mark is simply a physical injury, not a desease, but if you have other plecs in the tank they could have bullied yours during the night, either that or he cut himself on some decor, which if so should be removed.

The wound will heal on its self, but to prevent infection from setting in i advise you use a watered down dose of primafix or a full dose of melafix- feeding your common plec some high protein foods like a de shelled prawn will help give him some energy to recover as well  .

And not to lecture, but... get some test kits and use them....You need to know whats going on with your water to give your fish the good home they deserve.....I'm sure you know this or you wouldn't be posting here, just reiterating.

Tokis-Phoenix: I already removed everything that could possibly scratch as soon as I saw the mark. I'm hoping that's what it was. But I did a treatment anyway just in case. There are no other plecs and no one bullies him. I'll take your advice on the diet and those meds too, thanks...

AndyTaylor: "not to lecture..."....... but you feel the need to anyway, right?
I do use test kits, I just don't have one right now. Simple as that. No lecture needed.
This is my favourite..."I'm sure you know this or you wouldn't be posting here, just reiterating." So, basically, you're not offering any knew advice/experience at all and are just pointing out the rather obvious, correct?

ETA: Thanks to everyone who answered and offered help, it's very much appreciated.

I might be a burn i've had a striped raphel that would burn himself on the heater. the marks he got looked simalar to that. but i wouldn't think a pleco would try to hide between the glass and the heater -_-. have u ever seen him up against or on the heater? If so i suggest u move it.
