As the title says, is it possible to fit an external filter to more than one tank? the external filter is a interpet epf 250 the tanks are a juwel vision 18 and a 2'x1'x 15" if it is possible what's the best way?

No, it's not possible. In any case, the Interpet EPF is only adequate for the 180 litre aquarium by itself. When manufacturers say something is adequate for "up to 55 gallons" in the real world you lop off 30-50% from that, and reckon the filter would be a good choice for something around 40 gallons.

Cheers, Neale

The problem you are faced with, trying to use a filter on more than one tank, is balance. If each tank does not supply exactly as much water as you are returning to that tank, it will either end up with higher or lower levels in it over time. The only true multiple tank solution is to run a sump system with tank overflows from each tank returning to the sump. In that situation, each tank overflows as much water as is pumped into it and the level that varies is the level in the sump. hat is not the situation that you were asking about though. It is a setup for a "fish room" not two tanks.
