my first ever fry only managed to get 5 out of my community tank this morning but better than none and was wondering if they would be safe in my guppy/cherry shrimp tank until they are big enough for the community tank again, oh and how fast do they grow? (potential dangers are the silver mother and a male dwarf gourami who i saw trying to eat them before i noticed what they were and scared him away)

yeah your gouramis will definitely eat the babies. your guppies will to unless they are too big for thew guppies. some molly fry can be big-ish. ive had some when born that are about 1cm and they MAY be safe with guppies but in your situation i would suggest they would have a better chance with the guppies than the gouramis

i decided to just go out and get a breeding net and managed to save about 6 or so.
What is best to feed them apart from baby brine shrimp?
I have decapsulated brine shrimp eggs and crushed some flake will they be ok?

I've been starting my fry off on Hikari First Bites (a powdered food for fry), then switching them to crushed tropical flakes after a few days.

Oh! And congratulations! :D

im pretty fussy with my fry food so this is what i do: i grind up tropical flakes, livebearer flakes and veggie flakes into a fine almost powder and feed that from day one. i also feed once a day liquid food for those who still cant quite fit the flakes in. once they are about a week old i start feeding frozen foods such as brine shrimp and mysis shrimp. at a few weeks i also mix things up a bit with plankton and bloodworm. as a treat now and then i feed them an algae wafer or some shrimp pellets. some people say im over the top with feeding but i like them to have a variety of food
