Can u ID this pleco?

I've got a pleco which I finally found out from lfs is Red spot pleco. but i want to be sure. they don't know much there.
This is someones website I just saw on the net but if you scroll down there's a photo with a pleco in it (the first photo, with the white line whoopsy down the middle).
My pleco is this type of pleco, so if anyone knows what it is, I'd really appreciate it so I can Id my own pleco. Thankyou. My pleco is currently 4" long approx.

Looks like a gibby to me.

yep - its a gibby (sailfin Plec)

He'll get to about 18 inches - i hope you have a huge tank (or a friendly lfs when he gets too big )

I've currently got him in a 40g. I knew he would get big, they had a foot long one in the pond out back. by the time he gets too big for my tank I will be able to afford another big tank that will have him and a few other fishies of some description.

Does anyone know what a Red spot pleco is? have you seen one. Thats what the lfs says he is. but i already thought he looked like a gibbe.
Will he get aggressive?

My pleco and all plecos go paler/tan colour in places when stressed. is there any other time they do this. I noticed he had pale patches and then when he ate the flakes that fell to the bottom it disappeared. Does this mean he was starving? I feed him blanched veges but i haven't bought frozen foods cause they're expensive here. Would these be an essential part of there diet, do I need to get something like this for him to eat.

they can change colour due to lighting and also due to substrate...

I just went to an lfs with a girl that really seems to know what she's talking about. She pulled out her fishie book with a picture of a gibbiceps and it is a redspot. it's the same thing. Well. I never knew. ANyway. so he/she is a gibbiceps.
they had all these other catfishs too. I've only seen them on pictures but now I've seen them. WHiptails. borneos. other long stretched out ones, albino ones. all these ones that look really cool but cost about $50 - $80 (nz$).
