i recently brought myself a encyclopedia on marine fish keeping an was having a flick through and come to the section for feed and what certain fish will eat etc.

anyway along with the writing they also had a series of pictures fo what things look like and they have got a picture of a plastic clip with a sucker pad holding some lettuce leaves and says "to prevent green foods from blocking filter use a clip like this to secure it to the glass"

so got me thinkin why would they put it in the book if you cant feed it to your fish??

The cowfish for example is omnivore and apart from eating expensive seafood they also eat lettuce, broccoli, and so on.

if they accept it, then yes. No point in feeding something no one eats.

My lfs feeds their tangs regular lettuce, not sure how much nutrients this has....but they were eating it.

Well garlic is a vegetable and is highly recommended feeding to picky fish and also to help out strengthen a fish's immune system and help prevent/tackle ilnesses such as ich! So if that can be fed then why not others!

interesting to know this then. will see if i can get any of my fish to eat lettuce of something then just as a bit more of a variation to there diet

i can't see how it would have any less nutrients than dried seaweed sheets
