I was given a fish do not have a clue what it is can you please help me out ?

that is a damsel of some sort i believe. Usually turn into agressive little sods.

lol its about 3.5" long from tip to tail or maybe more he is in a wave 45 with 2 green chromis and 1 tomato clown will move him into my tl 550 later as he does tell the clown who is boss.
A very lively fish goes in and out of the live rock like its a obsticale course a pleasure to watch also nips at the live rock havent a clue what he is eating
 
yeh it is some type of damsel fish i have hunted to find what it is and not got a clue and its not even in any of my books or fish sites

Might be a blue devil damselfish but that would be slightly more elctric blue & definetly in your books.
 
One of the abudefduf damsel family, same as sergeant majors....likely to grow quite large....imported these many years ago from singapore as local damsels,lol..not much help thee

I can see the resembalance, I thought he looked like a 3 spot damsel too
I am happy enough :rolleyes:
 
Adult form of the blue fin damsel??, cant remember which its called now, as Juveniles they are cute, white bodies with black pectoral fins and an electric blue stripe on the fin and yellow top to the body. Google it, the latin name i came up with is Neoglyphidodon melas

looking at the photo again, id say almost definately an adult Blue Fin Damsel! It still has the black and blue fin that gives it its name!! :nod:
