Can sand, gravel increase my water GH?

Recently, I realized that my tap water GH is 5 but my shrimps tank GH is 9. (using API test kits)

I suspect that the sand and gravel or even the rocks could have increased my shrimps tank water GH to 9.

Do you think GH 9 is suitable for Fire Red, Super Blue, Golden and Tiger(wild caught) Shrimps?

If not, then I think I will have to change especially my sand and gravel which I believe have the most impact of my water hardness.

I also have driftwoods and plants in the tank but I don't think they have any effect on my GH.

What type of sand or gravel do you use? Some types can raise hardness and PH

I bought the normal sand and gravel from the fish store.
I think its a local brand but I have no idea what are the effects.

Perhaps, I may do some tests to confirm.

I may switch to ANS sand if it will help.
I am considering this brand below. This brand might be better.

Perhaps fill a bucket with tap water and test, then add your sand, leave a while then test. I'm sure that will answer your questions.

Thanks.
Yes, I am doing it now but will wait longer for the sand to leach out any minerals/salts (Calcium and Magnesium) before doing the test.
