I know having a breeding male will kill your females, but I know a guy who once managed to keep a sorority with a male betta for about two years, at which point the tank was broken down. He said it worked because his filter kind of tore it apart every single time the betta tried to make it. However, this was forever ago, when fishkeeping was really different, and that guy had a insanely sweet male betta (As in, that betta literally never flared). Im not sure if the bubble nest getting destroyed stressed it out or not. If not, maybe a infertile male would work? I’d really like to keep a harem if I could, so…good idea or not?

Definitely not a good idea.
