Good luck pest control, definately go to doctor maybe some blood anylises, mine is nothing and was nothing compare to yours and it´s hardly visible now (small abrasion). On the other hand  I am sure you will b ok. But better to see a doctor and explain that you keep tropical fish etc. But I am newbie so I don´t know that much.

thanks for the links. i read the bit that said about the lumps that oozed sticky fluid, and i looked carefully at the older lump, and in it there is a nodule that was oozing sticky fluid!!!

i'll definitely take a copy of the study to the doctor this morning.

cheers :good:

i am sure some one side the was
a thing called fish keepers finger
but i am not to sure i have been
cut bitten stung and impaled
with no ill affects but not every
one is the same

apparently fish tb is called fish fanciers finger. i went to the doctors and he's given me penicillin tablets and some cream to put on it. he also did a swab and some blood tests (full count, liver and kidney function, which is because of the penicillin i think, and also thyroid function). i'll be going back a week today.

cheers :good:

I keep thinking I may have had/have fish with TB, two tetras that both had curved spines, wasted away and then died. I have 3 left one of which is swimming oddly and twitches.

When I have hands in th etank I often get bumps come up but think it is an allergy as they go within a day or two.

What do you think, how do you confirm TB?

I have condemned my tank to fish TB. However the there are that many pathogens, bacteria, parasites etc etc.. some symptoms are hard to distinguish. Curved spines can also be caused by internal parasites. I have just lost a fish (yesterday). A Colombian Tetra which had a curved spine and lost the ability to swim properly. I usually cover my arms with a bin bag or something so haven't had any bumps or anything. As you say.. could be a reaction to any one of those billions of bacteria!!

TB usually only becomes a problem when it gets to the bone or joint. Before that it might seem dormant.
