i've read that guppies can store fertilised eggs and give birth up to 5 months later with no male present. but can mollies do this also? i have 5 baloon mollies (all female) and have spotted at least 4 diffent fry (of 2 different ages) swimming amongst my platy fry.
i thought this was true of platies up until i read that it only happens with guppies. there was nothing about mollies though.

please help. bit confused. :dunno:

they don't store the eggs, they store the sperm from the male, wich doesn't make them fat, so if you're fish is still fat after 4 months something is wrong inside her, probably dropsy or internal parasites.

my balloon mollies have not been fat for four months, just popping out babies evry now and then. lol. i can't even tell if they are pregnant or even which ones are having them because they're all fat! (naturally ofcourse). they are asorted colours so i know it must be either the black one or one of the two orange/white/black ones as that is the colour of the fry.

have quite a few now. lol. no one ever warned me about fish populations getting out of control. lol.

Sounds like she was holding sperms. This isn't that unusual for live bearers...

I'm still trying to figure out this English thing... ;) Try sticking 's' here and there, and choose either 'a', 'the' or nothing randomly all over the place... ;)
