So, that 'tank' is 2 gallon, but you only fill it halfway? Seems like a very shallow gallon of water in there...

So? Is it only a gallon you keep your fish in?

Anywho, that bowl is probably REALLY wide, because 2 gallons is bigger then you think.

And therefore very shallow... but surely 1 gallon isnt enough for a adult betta?

aren't bettas supposed to be able to handle shallow waters? since they originated from rice paddies and all? it seems though that if you have a bit deeper water his fins will flow nicer

well rice pattys arnt that shallow but yea im sure a betta could do ok in very shallow water. im not sure they would be very happy thogh a 1g is purfect for them, not to deep not to shallow and more that enogh room to move around in
