Only for a week or two, my 47 is just gonna be tetras, not the hiding type, so I'm OK on plants rn (one smaller amazon sword, a large amazon sword, and a baby amazon sword, very hard to remember) I'm just thinking about my ten gallon, only silk plants in till my live plants grow ( I'm planning on using seeds, there cheaper, you can buy a pack of 10 for the price of one already grow one at my LPS)
Can I do it?

What are these seeds you've seen? Are they from a reputable shop or online?

The reason I ask is I've seen these before and they are usually a scam, they are a type of plant that will grow very very quickly to start with and then die off because they are not suited to life underwater.

In terms of silk plants they can be used and if you don't really want to go down the planted route there is no reason not to use them long term? But I'd have thought they would be as or more expensive than live plants of a comparable size?

there's no reason to have to buy "carpeting plant seeds"
although they are remarkably demanding aquarium plants, if you buy some bunched or potted carpeting plants they will quickly take over the bottom of your tank under the right conditions.

Wow those seeds are more expensive than adult plants !
