I have a 90L tank that has 1 angel fish and 6 platy's- 5 at the moment as 1 is in the fry tank ready to give birht =) -
Would i be able to fit any more fish in.
I like-
dwarf Cory's
gourani's
dwarf gourami's
kribensis
siamese flying fox's

i was wondering if i could put any of them in =)

ok, i will try to sell him then =/ he was a lovely fish :/ But i can see what you are saying....my LFS is obviously not as good as i though :S

And cool =) i love those fish, would there be anyother combo's that i could have?

thanks :)

your welcome and at the time i cant think of any other combos and i really dont know much about the other fish and by the way if it helps you for the 1 inch of fish per gallon rule your tank is 23 gallons so 6 platys equals 12 inches i think, 1 dwarf gourami is 3 more inches and the cories are 9 inches even know it is a bit over stocked it should be fine it is only going over by 1 inch i think thats how big all the fish get, so good luck with the tank

you did thanx.....just thought of somthing....if i am selling my angel, that means i can get smaller fish xD so what about these fish - sorry, i must be starting to get annoying ;)

Tetras
goby's -not sure about this one

thanx :)

Tetras, Rasboras or other shoaling fish would be a great addition in groups of 6+ Cories are also great!

Your not getting annoying at all you could have platys guppies andlers dwarf cores small tetras killifish and other small types of fish

I don't know much about gobies but I think bumble bee gobys and peacock gobies are freshwater and would work well but don't take advice on gobies from me I don't know much about them wait for other answers from more experienced members

Thanks :D i was thinking of having-
my 6 platy's
5 dwarf cory's
neon, lemon tetra's
maybe 1 or 2 gourani's

would that be overstocked....just want to make sure this time as i made the mistake of listening to my LFS last time

k awsome, thanks for all your help xD

oooo how many tetra's......something like 3 of lemon and 3 of neon or more cause i know they like to be in a school :)

The 1 inch of fish per gallon 'rule' really isn't that accurate.

Tetras and rasboras do like to be in groups, but of their own species - they won't shoal in a mixed group. The minimum number for any one species is 6, more is better. One large group of one kind looks more effective than lots of small groups of different kinds.

Corys also like to be in groups, dwarf/pygmy ones especially.

As for gouramis, go for a single male dwarf gourami OR honey gourami. Others can get quite large.

Bumblebee gobies are brackish, not freshwater, not suitable for your tank.

6 platys
1 dwarf gourami
6 neon or lemon tetras
6 dwarf cory

I think that'd be your limit.

For corys you will ideally have sand, not gravel, and the gourami in particular will like lots of plant cover.
