Can I Put A Betta In With A Fry?

i dug out a 2g aqua cube from the basement and i was planning on putting a cupple of guppy fry in it out of my fry tank. so i want to put a betta in it. can the betta go with the fry? if not i will leave the betta alone in it. it will be a male splenden

I wouldnt put the fry in with a male personally.

Male bettas are aggressive (especially with guppies - they mistake their fins for fins of another betta), and if you decided to get a female, they like to eat their own eggs, so I'm not sure if that would work well with actual fry (even if it's from another type of fish).

ya want to no something, i feed my angel my guppie fry so i really dont care if a betta eats one. and they are newborn fry not big fry.

the betta will eat the fry if he can fit them in his mouth. or he will stress them and nip them untill they die.

bUcky's right...Most likely, the betta will harrass and nip the littlefry untill death or will try to take them as enemies and try to attack and flare. He will chase them unless he's really nice

To save myself the trouble later, I am going to lock this now. The answer to the question can be found via searching for guppies in this forum, it's been done. And using your best judgement is also a good guide. Ask yourself these questions
"Is my betta aggressive?"
"Can the guppies fit in his mouth?"
And most importantly..
"Is a two gallon large enough to accomodate the betta AND growing fry?"
I think you'll find the answer in the last question.

The second reason I'm closing this is because I see a dreadful turn happening here. To use fry as feeders, or not to. Personally I do not, but I can assure you that many, many, many people do. My lfs sells guppies as feeders for cripes sake. So, let's just let this drop.
