I asked my LFS and he said he cant legally sell them in NSW,

Byron, thanks for your insights it is always good to hear others experiences. I agree that ideally Bettas prefer their own setup, yet have also had much success with them with other species. I believe it depends on the Bettas personality

NickAu, I have just bred that little fish and have three from rescued eggs swimming in a fry tank along with Cory babies. They are great little fish and it is interesting that two of the fry are squabbling already at only 3 weeks old! I am hoping my nephew will take my video footage and make another awesome one for me to share. I hope you manage to get some.

Guppiegirl, sounds like you already know a fair bit so sorry if I have been saying stuff you already know. What are your current thoughts re: plans?
