Tokis, perhaps if you know female livebearers store sperm and will most likely produce fry, you shouldn't own them at all if you aren't prepared for fry ;)
Same argument as not breeding bettas if you aren't prepared for 100+ fry, just applied to livebearers. You know what you're getting into when you own female livebearers, and if you don't believe in culling just to avoid the responsibility of caring for large numbers of fry, then I fail to see why culling livebearer fry suddenly becomes "ok" just because you didn't put forth the effort of breeding them in the first place. They've probably bred, you are aware of this when you buy them, and if you don't like the idea of culling then you should step up and take responsibility for it. Seems like a double standard to me.

If you want to own female livebearers, having more fry than you can easily deal with is inevitable. If you want to breed bettas, having more fry than you can easily deal with is inevitable. I don't think it's a sin to breed bettas because you want some fry and cull, just as I don't think it's a sin to own female livebearers if you won't want fry.

Anyway, I've hijacked this thread enough... if you want to discuss it further, please PM :)
