Can Fish Be....um....Gay?

Hi,

I have this male Platty and male Guppy who seem to be rather attached to eachother. I'm sure they're both males because both have those things that stick out down by their anal fins.

Ever since yesterday my guppy has been chasing around after my Platty. Both have their things out and flapping around.

Then just now I saw the guppy doing what appeared to be...um...oral pleasure...to the platty, swimming underneath it with its head near the platty's thingy.

Is this common?
Should I be concerned?
Or should I say 'Mozel Tov' and leave it alone?

My son has got gay mollies, one is a black lyre tail & the other an orange sailfin. The lyre tail was ok until the sailfin arrived, he even mated with specks mk1. After she died & the s/fin came along with specks mk2 (female) the guys decided to hang out together. Specks mk2 has never had babies but she seems to have a happy life. She was naughty this morning when she ate some swordie fry as the mum was giving birth.

I've got 11 gay guppies.... I'm not sure they'd even know what to do if I put some girls in with them. One is very butch and is always the 'boy' but the others seem to take it in turns to be the 'girl'. Go guppies! Gotta love 'em.

that is just so funny, sadly when i got my platies i didn't know the dif between male and female at the time so ended up with 5 male So i have one fish thats the bully and one by one he seems to be doing the other 4 in, one dead so far and one on his last legs now

Great, now we are reduced to discussing alternative lifestyles for our fish? What a way to start the day. Seriously though, this is just too funny. Should we start a thread on fish AIDS next? Maybe there is a market for fish condoms for people with fish so inclined.

When I first saw this question, I said 'um, nay...' but then clicked on it anyways, just because I had to. Now I'm glad, because I really needed something funny to laugh about. I guess their just like everybody else... if they can't get it one way they'll make do with something (or someone) else....

Ive got 2 lyertail guppies that cant decide if they are Arthur of Martha, I just had the two of them and when they started.....you know....

...with eachother I decided they needed women and got 3 females, they had a swim around them the first day then that was it, they were back to "chase me, chase me!"
