My Sister has a RES turtle (for those who dont know its an aquatic turtle)
and she tends to overfeeed it hence the piles of food at the bottom of the tank and i was wondering if i could take out the turtle and put in some of my cories to eat the wasted food.
my guess is no but thats a guess.
what do you guiys think.

Turtles are very messy fish, and it is not usually reccomended to keep fish in with them. And depending on the size of the turtle, the corys would probally get eaten. I might look into a birstlenose, but they are high waste producers, also.

well i have two that are full size cories and the turtle is still only like 2.5" or 3" but i was planning on removing the turtle before i put them in anyways

How big will the turtle get and what is the size of the tank? Maybe lowering the intake of the filter would help a bit with the mess. Or just a morepowerful filter. Turtles need a heck of a filter.

at his size we can't tell if he's male or female
males- 4"
females 4"-12"
it also like fish with the whole clean water makes it grow bigger faster thing too.
he has a standard tetra filter that came in his tank pack
as for tank size it didnt say what size on the box but it looks too big to be a 10g but at the same time to small too be a 20
my guess is a 15g
but then again its more of a width-wise tank so who knows.

Its 1ft Both Long And Wide

If there is a lot of leftover food then you are overfeeding, also good filtration and regular water changes and gravel cleaning will prevent any problems

What are the deminsions of the tank? I can figure out the complete capasity of the tank if I have the deminsions. Does it have a land dock? I think that most turtles need a land dock, but I know pretty much nothing about turtles. If it does get on the land, then you could try feeding it on the land? Or just tell your sister that she is overfeeding

Ok Update:
I Googled Some RES facts and he is a she or Its a girl and will grow up to 12" or 1 ft.
so im defintitely buying her a new tank

That's huge! I sure wouldn't personally want something that large! Lol. I know nothing about turtles, so maybe some people in the Reptile and Invertabrate section would be able to help you.

Bebobb: yes its 1ft wide and 11" tall and she is getting a new tank. also i believe you are refering to a basking rock which yes she has.
Davo: there is no gravel

Then when water changes are performed, then siphon the bottom and that should remove the uneaten food. Is the tank 20" long?

it about a foot on both length and width.
unfortunately there is no source where we could set-up a siphon nearby enought the tank so that brings me back to my original question:
can cories eat turtle food?
by the time the turtle is done with the food its crushed into a fine dust

So the deminsions are 12"x12"x11"? Are you sure you know what a siphon is? It is just a vaccum that is powered by gravel. They are about $5 here at my LFS. I just did a quick Google search on Corys and RES turtles together and found at that it is not reccomended.

i know,
im just gonna temporarily remove the turtle and put cories from my tank in there.
and yes i know what siphons are they might be different at your LFS but at mine they are faucet powered (i still dont get how that works)
and they have a long hose on them

If they are hose powered, then they are probally pythons. A siphon is just a piece of tubing that removes the water from the tank, and say puts it in a bucket on the floor. This is the siphon that I was talking about. Even though mine is much more simplier.
