A short while ago I was given a bristlenose pleco by someone who was closing down their tank. From nose to tip of his tail I think he is about 4 inches. I only have a 60 LITRE tank so I'm a little worried he doesnt have much space, but he doesnt do much else than eat bogwood all day anyway.

I am thinking of buying a 120 litre tank and having a couple of fancy goldfish in it - could I acclimatise him to and keep him in these kind of temperatures? Then he would have more room.

And if so, how would I go about it?

i dont think so i have never heard
of it been done but i dont think goldfish
would be harmed if you brought them up to the
temperature that the B/N requires i have kept gold fish
in a tropical tank before for two years before i give them
away to some one who wanted the for an hole in a wall tank
were they were kept with tropical fish again correct me if i am wrong

BN can not live at room temp well not for long anyway

okay thanks.

what temp should they be at then? might as well check hes at the right temp atm. the heater is set at 26 but I believe its a bit hotter than that as my room gets ridiculously warm and the thermometer says 27/28.

also will he be okay in the small 60 litre tank he is in at the moment?

i would'nt worry to much about bringing his water climate down to the goldfish's level's.
all goldfish will survive for ages in warm water.
i kept 2 goldfish when i first got my 2 pleco's and they were fine. when they reached a certain size they went into a pond..and are both big goldfish now and both still alive to this day.
warmer water just makes goldfish more active.
being more active in warmer water doesnt mean they have to be fed more than usual though.
so dont be tempted to over feed them :)

your baby BN is fine in the tank its in atm, but yes you will soon need a larger tank for him.
120 litres will be fine also.

hey, when you say BABY bn, do you mean he will grow much more?

And if i was going to do the above idea - what temperature should I have them at? Would normal room temperature be okay?
