Can Black Skirt Tetras Come In Red?

[A friend of mine has a school of them and they're stunning. I haven't been able to find a profile for them anywhere on the internet. His look very like black skirt tetras, only the black is substituted for red and the rest of its body is gold, they're beautiful.

Any chance they're dyed? He's had them a long time so it won't be from food.

There's a chance that they are serpae tetras, they look similar...I've never heard of red black skirts
 
Hi, Don't think that fish is a Black Skirt Tetra. It looks very like a Flame Tetra,(Hyphessobrycon flammeus). It's sometimes called a Fire Tetra or a Von Rio Tetra, Hope that helps, :good:

That looks about right! Thank you! Gorgeous fish.

He also has a single, very sad looking glowlight tetra, also very pretty.
