Can anyone think of a good tank to get?
Around 500-600x200-250x200-300inc.hood
I've heard fulval are good (uno or duo deep or something?)

I live in England, cheshire, so if anyone knows anywhere local or anywhere onlie with cheapish delivery i would be glad!

why don't you just go to your lfs, have a look around and see what you like? basically you're looking for a big tank with maximum possible surface area.

what's your budget? I saw the fluval duo deep tanks last time I was at my lfs and really liked them ...they have two fluorescent light spaces too, which is useful if you're wanting live plants. If you're not fussed about the lighting, you could probably find something cheaper. although they do come with a filter and heater and some other stuff included.

if you're on a tight budget maybe you could look in your local paper?

local fish store and i got a duo deep 800 and really like it although i am aiming to get a bigger one at some point.

yes the fluval tank are good.
I went to my lfs and saw the duo deep 800 (L 80 x B 35 x H 45cm)and duo 1000 (100 x 40 x 40).I was planning on getting the 1000 but got the 800 instead because i wanted more height.
After visiting the shop again i noticed that the duo 1000 that was on display was the only one they had in stock (had a huge crack in it) and that the were actually selling the deep version of it but hadn't changed over what was on display.
So i took my deep 800 back to the shop and bought the deep 1000 instead.

Also, i didn't like the look of the fluval stand as it looked rather flimsy and didn't have a shelf in it. So i went elsewhere and bought a Juwel stand meant for the same sized tank as it was a lot more sturdy and looked better built, plus it had a shelf in it.

Although it ended up costing me a bit more than getting both the fluval tank and stand together (they were on offer when purchased together), i think i've got a good combination.

I really do like the look of the duo deep 1000, shame I have nowhere to put it

At some shops you can get a tank made specifically for the size that you have, I got mine ordered specially for me, and although it costs a little extra (not sure, could cost the same, dunno, can't remember) and you have to wait a little longer, its worth it, cause it fits your space perfectly!!!!!!!
