Can Anyone Tell Me What These Are?

i have bought some malawis not sure which ones would you be able to see if you can id them?
I think this is a yellow lab hybrid.

Hi Mark,

I believe the first one is a Labidochromis caeruleus (Male), second looks like a Pseudotropheus demasoni (Female), looks stressed which is why the colours are so weak, as the colour should be dark blue and light blue bars: I have this fish and her colours change when I move the tank layout about. The third is a Pseudotropheus Zebra (Unsure on sex but at a guess a female). I dont know what the fourth is, sorry

I agree to the 1st and 3rd one. however the second one has a colour and pattern more similar to a frontosa as the demasonii is more blue.

The 4rth looks like a Victorian cichlid... can never remember its name

The 2nd one is only tiny 1" maybe no bigger very tiny so thats why colours are not showing through properly. So any ideas what it is it isnt a frontosa they had them in there tiny one definatly not that.

The man in the shop thought it could be a yellow lab crozz with a zebra cos of the stripes and black on its face do you think its a male lab then as i have another one with no black stripes just a black dorsal.

Cool the 4th cichlid i have an albino one that looks exactly the same is the 1st one def a yellow lab as it has dark on its face and dark stripes and the man said it was a hybrid i have another yellow lab but doesnt have black on its body just on its dorsal fin

so this one is a Maylandia Lombardoi i think he is really sweet he is doing well seeing as he is so tiny.


any ideas what this one is?

Looks like an albino red zebra (metriaclima estherae) to me.

The albino is a Pseudotropheus Socolofi albino, they are normally blue but i think the albino's are stunning. Can be aggressive though as can your Lombardoi.

Wow thanks very much for all your help iwas sold the Pseudotropheus Socolofi albino and the Astatotilapia Latifasciata as peacocks you see what i mean when i say they have not got a clue about the cichlids over here and as imm only just starting withthis species its hard for me as there is so many. I have 2 more here which i would like to see if they can be i.d



Although hard to see in the picture the top one is very yellow with like an electric blue showing on its face.

They both look like Aulonocara (Peacock) females. Hard to tell exactly which species as the females are all very similar in colouration whereas the males are normally very striking and distinctive.
