Hi Guys/Girls, if anyone could ID the Aiptasia looking thing, I would be greatful not sure if it is aiptasia as the tentacles are quite short and stubby ...
Do I need to get rid of it or is it safe ???

Also the purple matt bobbly stuff :)

Thanks in advance :good:

Mojano Anenome possibly, look at the pik below, does it look like that? Its a small pest anenome similar to Aptasia. You can use something like Joes Juiece or Aptasia X to kill it. Aparently if left un treated will multiply and infest your tank. It has a powerfull sting. I had one which I left because I liked the looks of it, I now have quite a few and will be eradicating this weekend.

I agree with Alex as the first pic at a glance defo looks like a mojano pest anenome and i would use something like joes juice to get rid before it starts to multiply and take over your tank...

The second pic i would say was of some sort of polyps on the LR that are not currently open, as a guess i would say they were zoas.

With the ralative size, I'd say they were some form of xinea/star polyps. Deffinately a polyp of some form though, and friendly

The aptasia-like thing is probibly a pest as the others have said :good:

All the best

hmm interesting, it looks pretty tho hehe.

Ah thanks for the replies I was hoping I wouldnt have to zap it, as it does look pretty cool :shifty:
will get shot of it before it spreads :)

I have the same thing on a rock that I got probably 3 or 4 months ago, and it never spread. I have Aiptasia which spread like crazy and very quick, so either this kind is not a pest or just takes longer to spread.
