Hello all, I was just wondering can anubias be aquarium pebbles or does it have to be attached to driftwood of stone?

Hi there!
You can Plant Anubias On Soil but The rhizomes should not buried with the root. The thing is anubias are root feeder and anubias will grow much faster if they can access the substrate. If you want to grow anubias from soil you can try this trick.

1. Take 2 Stone that can hold you anubias down.
2. Put anubias between the Rocks and make sure you don't push the rock to hard. Just have to make sure the anubias didn't float
3.wait 3-5 week and your anubias will growth root to the Soil and you can remove the rock after.

There is a very closely related plant called pathos the is sold as a house plant. The roots are in soil and it grows well in bottle of fertilized water with no soil. As long as the rhizome is not buried in soil it should do well. Others have used string to attach it to wood. Eventually the roots secure it to the wood while the string rots away.
