Can An Ornament Speed Up Cycling?

I read an ornament from an established tank can also help speed up the cycling process as bacteria stick to it. Is this true?

Best bet is mature media or a good scoop of gravel from a mature tank can help it along.

Maybe, but I wouldn't of thought it would be measurable as it would speed it up so little if any.
From what i've read 99% of the bacteria in a tank is found in the filter, the rest in the gravel and ornaments apparently.

That's what i'd of thought anyway.

Bacteria will stick to anything in the tank. How much though, is dependant on the material the item is made from.

It will, but mature media or squeezings will make a lot more of a difference and if you have access to one, then you probably do to the second as well.

The bio film on the ornament will speed up a cycle but the difference will be negligible.
