hello everyone

i just received a 60litre biorb for my birthday, and i am interested in keeping tropical fish, but i also like the bubble eyed goldfish as well, now i have heard from various people its ok to put a goldfish in a tropical tank and others saying it was a no no, so i thought i would come on here and ask your advice

also what tropical fish would you rec for a biorb please, and another question i have like all air bubbles in the inside of the tank i have had it set up for 3 days no fish in as yet xxx

I own Goldfish, and have done my research.
NO, Do not have your Goldfish with Tropicals, only if you can SOMEHOW get your water temperature SUPER PERFECT.
Also, Guppies or Some Tetras may go good, with that tank. I'd say get some Neon Tetras. That's what I'm getting in a couple of months when I get a new aquarum for my goldies.

No goldfish shouldn't be kept in tropical tanks,

Suitable species for a biorb would be; honey gouramis, endlers, lime green tetras, harlequinns etc

1 Goldfish get too big for a biorb
2 They shouldn't be kept at tropical temperatures
3 Biorb shape is no good for goldfish
4 If its around an inch it will probably get eaten by the goldfish

and YOU MUST DO A PROPER FISHLESS CYCLE USING AMONIA DO NOT JUST LEAVE FOR A WEEK AND ADD THE FISH OR USE AN INSTANT CYCLE PRODUCT

Thats no to instant starts they don't work

hi what do you mean by aroma, i have done the 2 sachets that came with the biorb and the man in the pet aquirum said i would be okay to get som e fish tomorrow, can you explain more to me please, as you can tell i am a complete novice, but willing to learn, i was thinking more of a bubble eyed fish or the black moor, i didnt know biorbs were so poorly regarded til i started to look on the internet about what fish to put in them :(

hi what do you mean by aroma, He said amonia, you use it during a fishless cycle. read up on it in the pinned subjects.

and no goldfish of anysort

Biorbs look nice but make crap tanks.

I agree with jazz goldifsh need length in tanks.

Fancy goldfish need 15 gallons for the first one. Plus a 30 gallon filter as they are massive waste producers.

Don't add fish tomorrow as there will be still bubbles in the tank.
Research the fish before you buy.
Read up on the nitrogen cycle.
Also cycling tanks burns there skin and gills, when a fish is stressed it weakens there immune system.
I would think about doing a fishless cycle. As there nothing worse than watching fish suffer and gasp for breath.
