Can a crowntails rays get "fused" together?

I place one of my CT's in a filtered tank. He did not seem to like it. His rays got longer but really thin and several of them seem to have gotten "fused" together. It like he can no longer spread some of his rays.

Anyone ever have this happen to one of their CT's? Any cure for it?

Yes, it's happened to one of my CT females. I think it's also called 'melting'. With good water quality & diet, they should grow back to normal.
