Anyone got one of these? I've really wanted one since I saw it on the PetShrimp site a year or so ago, and I've just seen some for sale. Doing a bit of research they seem to have the same requirements as other fan shrimp such as the bamboo, but this post I found really puts me off: http://www.plecofanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16193

It might just be that it was kept in a tank with agressive tankmates, mine would be in a well planted 100L tank with neon tetras, guppies, khuli loaches and one honey gourami, fitted with a fluval 305.

I have kept these shrimp and have to say I wouldn't keep them again unless I could guarantee they had a water column laden with food.
They fan the water almost constantly and you need to be prepared to spot feed them if necessary. They're big shrimp and need a good current in the tank with peaceful tankmates that aren't too greedy. I wouldn't have them with danios or platy for example. The longest I managed to keep one alive was nearly two years but when it died I came to the conclusion it starved to death and simply wasn't getting enough to eat in my 125L community tank. You also have to watch out with moulting too. I lost one to a moulting accident where it couldn't moult the shell off properly :(
Lovely creatures. They get huge too 15cm was one of mine!

They can't harm anything...fanning something to death is not something I've heard of btw
