12 days ago, I got 12 Bettas in the mail from yeeviabetta. One of them is an Orange/Black DT Plakat male. (If anyone remember. He is the FREEBIE Orange/Black, that yeeviabetta had posted a couple of weeks ago.
I was going to breed him with my Orange female. Since he is so dark, and my Yellow DT female (I think she is plakat too) was full of eggs, I decided to use her. I started to condition them. Within a couple of days of the males arrival. This past Sunday, I put the male in the breeding tank, and floated the female in a half gallon container.
When I went to work this morning, there was still no bubble nest. I got a big surprise, when I got home, and went to check on them. One of my cats must have jumped off the top of the tank, and shook it. The bowl with the female was tipped, and lying on the bottom of the tank. Both were swimming together in the breeding tank. At first I was worried, then, I saw that all fins were intact. There was still no bubble nest, but the cup was moved. As I moved it back, I realized that there were EGGS All over. I was thrilled, and amazed. No bubble nest, but the eggs are floating. It looks like both, mom, and dad are keeping them afloat.
I didn't want to be too nosey, but it looks like there may be about 100. WOW, 100 little DT babies. If feels like Christmas. They SHOULD be: Yellow, Orange, Yellow/Black, and Orange/Black. This is my first Spawn. I wasn't going to put them together for at least another 3 days. I haven't even had the male 2 weeks yet. The tank is 82, so I should have some little wiggles, by Thurs morning.

I just let the male takingcare of the babies. Not a big spawn and that is good. I did add some giant plakat blue babies into his tank too. Betta didn't know it is not his babies. LOL Well, my giant blue plakat don't know how to take care of the babies. LOL He knows the babies is there but he never care for it and just let them swim around. So I took half out and put it to the orange doubletail male so at least if the giant didn't take good care, at least I have half in the other breeder tank.
