Calling in all clown loach experts

Yup! Just do what P.T. said. :D

The main reason everyone says to put your Clowns in quarantine for a two week minimum, is because they are very prone to white spot and other diseases. If they get white spot or something, just cure them (if you have questions on how to do it, there are tons of people here who will help you out  ), and all should be fine.

Just remember, that if they do get sick, be sure to treat them accordingly. Clowns are 'scaleless' fish, that are very sensitive to medicines. It's a good policy to only treat them with half the dosage you would 'normal scaled' fish.

And good luck with your little guys! I just know you are going to love them to pieces!

I would make sure to keep the temps stable. Be sure to have a reliable heater.

Other than keeping up your water changes, the only thing I can think of is clowns love to eat snails.

:)

Loaches eat snails? All loaches do?

i don't know about all loaches but I have heard from a few different people that clown loaches like to eat snails.

I don't think coolies do, but my skunks, yoyo, and zebra loaches do.

I just picked up a few juvie skunk loaches, and the PetSmart girl went through the plant tank picking out all the snails we could see. The skunks didn't want to leave the bag to go in the tank.

Dojo loaches won't touch them unless you prepair them and sever them on a silver plate.

I have always had good luck with clown loachs. I treat mine kinda bad I guess. He moves from tank to tank about every 3 to 5 days eating snails. Then spends a few weeks off till the next time the fry tanks are empty. I got him a piece of pvc pipe that he lives in and when I need to move I just pick it up and carry the pipe over to the next tank and place it where I want it and out he will come eatting every snail he can find.

Clown loaches are not nearly as fragile as you are being led to believe. I'm not even sure why you have them in a quarantine tank unless that is what you do will all your new fish.

If you have a stable tank they will thrive as much as most other fish, if fact I think the two I have are the oldest fish in my tank and have outlived many tropical fish. They will need a place to hide and feed them the sinking pellets and all should go well.

I did have a mild outbreak of ich some time ago but treated the entire tank by increasing the temp and adding some ich meds and it cleared up with no problem in a couple days.

Add the loaches and enjoy their crazy behavior, don't be alarmed when they disappear or if you see them laying on their sides.....they are truly clowns.

I just put myclowns into the community tank they rule it now :p Not had any bother with them.
They love cucumber and bloodworm.

Not mine! I got them a snail for a special treat and they haven't so much as sniffed at it! Although the tank they came out of at the LFs was littered with empty shells.

my clowns are my favourite fish - they're very entertaining. they haven't had any problems with sickness and they survived the bad old days of insufficient filtration (which i fixed last weekend)

before i knew about their passion for snails i did once get a medium sized golden snail. it lasted less than a day. sorry snail

I got three baby clown loaches today that are in a quarantine tank. What should I do to insure survival?
Test the water in the main tank until it is perfect. Make sure to use stress coat, float the loaches in the main tanks water for 20 minutes.
