I really want to get into breeding bettas. Currently I breed cory cats, but would like to extend to one of my favorite fish species: the betta :D. One problem though; once I do breed them, and the fry get older, how will I house them? I'm not a fan of those little plastic cups that they're sold in at Petsmart and Walmart, and don't have too much room. In the end I'll probably end up having to sell a few, but until then, what type of containers/tanks should I use? I'm planning to breed high-quality plakats imported from Thailand. Also, do high-quality bettas sale easily locally? I probably won't sell them to my lfs. Or maybe online? Thanks!

Thanks! I like the fact that your containers are larger for the bettas. Is it hard to keep that system up?

Those jars are great, they look are really decent size as well, and you're drip system is fantastic.

How long did it take you to design and finally put it together ? :good:

I'm assuming money is not a problem? Because not only are you going to have to figure out what to jar juvvies in, but how to keep them all clean (daily cleanings) and warm. If you set up a shared water system like in f250fisherman's betta barracks, if one fish comes down with ick or something else, the rest could get infected--you might need a UV attached too. Just from my experience, my lfs don't want to pay a lot for bettas since most people buying them haven't a clue what a "quality" betta is, and there are so many other people indiscriminately breeding bettas, the lfs is going to buy from whoever will sell at the cheapest--which can get REAL cheap. If you sell on a board like Aquabid, I think there's a small seller's fee you pay to Aquabid, plus then you have to deal with shipping which isn't cheap, and shipping supplies, time. And having to deal with disgruntled buyers, DOA fish, etc. And if you intend to keep most of your babies, all the males will need fully set up tanks of their own, maybe a lot of hte females too. You're also going to have to have extra tanks for hospital use.
