It's a male guinea fowl, as evidenced by the length of the "waffles". I used to hatch them out in incubators. It's also quite often stocked in my supermarket and so by no means is it only edible in Africa, slightly bigger than a chicken and tastes nicer That's one of the things which sucks about living in London, I can no longer keep my random assortment of animals Agree with you about the noise though, although they aren't quite as bad as peacocks! Great watch"dogs" though (guineas that is).

The "rabbit-hybrid" you saw is called a mara. It's actually a small rodent, relative of the capybara, the largest rodent in the world.
