hi
is their any advantage to having a calcium reactor?
i have a 300 litre aquarium with fish, live rock and anemones in, would it actually help in any way?
looking at getting the V2 Calcium Reactor 600 For aquariums up to 600 litres/120 UK gallons. Requires 3 litres/2.5kg of media.
can i just put the media in one of my canaster filters, then this means that i dont have to fork out for one??

kalk will do it for your tank and most tanks out there.

Your carbon load is nominal compared to a stony dominated tank.

I'd save the coin for other upgrades.

if you dont need it, dont get it, kalk/calcium additives crashed my tank.

Calcium reactors are really bestsuited for those who have very high stony coral loads in their tanks. They're very complicated and expensive to operate, and not exactly for those new to the hobby... Work great if you need them and operate them properly, but from what little I know of your tank I'd say they're prolly not needed yet ;)
