when I got my CAEs, I didn't know their damage potential. They are currently living in my community tank. So far, they haven't been violent. They're not full grown though.

my question is, could they live in a 125 litre tank alongside a South american puffer?

CAEs are horrible whent hey get older. I'd be very cautious. The last thing you want is the puffer getting stressed alot.

:X I certainly wouldn't want one of those fish swimming in my tank! Can't you find it another home? It would definately bother that poor delicate puffer. I wish they wouldn't even sell those fish.

damn... I thought maybe that Philip with his puffer teeth might be able to defend himself -_-

They don't use their teeth for defence, just for eating. Their defense is puffing with spikes & being poisonous if eaten. Unfortunately, the CAE may still try to suck on the puffer.

How about putting them in with the Suvetii? Or would he eat them...?

I kind of feel sorry for them. It's not their fault they are nasty. They're just like that. Maybe when I set up my snail breeding/shrimp quarentine/belly loading tank I'll put them in there...

Can't you find it another home?
I guess I could take them back to my LFS... I wish they didn't sell them in the first place. When I first got them they were tiny things and I was assured they made great community fish.

I'm sure your suvatti would lose to have them as dinner... er tankmates! :hyper: Yum!!!
