I bought 3 cabomba plants about 2 weeks ago and planted them in my tank but I have very little experience with real plants so may have been a little heavy handed as some of the "branches" looked as thou I snapped them off and they floated around the tank, some I removed but others were caught up amongst the surviving plants and I didn't notice the, until now.

These broken off branches look as thou they are now trying to root (long White root looking theses are sproutting out of the towards the sand) so my question is, could this be what's happening and I should push them into the sand or am I completely wrong and I should bin them.

you can either replant them or leave them floating, i have about half and half mainly for fry to hide in :good:

Plants like cabomba will root from broken off pieces, so it's well worth poking them into the substrate.

I've had cabomba in both of my tanks for about a month now and not a single one has formed any roots. It is still alive, and even pearls, but no roots. I've wedged it in the substrate but it always ends up floating again so I just leave it.
