C02 Bubble Counter

i have a co2 system set up with bubble ladder.... how does this work and how do i know im getting the right out-put of co2?

Hi,
is it the Hagen Co2 system? On mine I have one bubble every 2 or 3 seconds which seems to do me fine.

If you measure your KH and pH you can work out the Co2 content of your tank by using this table - aim to be somewhere in the green section.

how do i test for kh? i have the api test kit dont think thats on there. i have the nutrafin co2 system

You need a KH test kit.

Your lfs could also test it for you for a few pence if take a sample, but it's better to be self sufficient and get a kit.

Yeah, buy a kit. You're gonna be testing every day for at least a week, and then probably weekly.

1 Bubble per 1 min is okay,

anyway that's depend on your reactor or diffuser..

Mine 1 bubble per min and sometimes 2 bubbles per min.

You should pay more attention if your KH under 6 (soft water)

That's case a PH crash DISASTER!!!

Also you should turn off at night to save CO2 and prevent PH crashs...

I'm running our 40gal at about 30-45 per minute
I get 35ppm co2 with about 7deg KH
PH of around 6.8.

mine does niot bubble that ammount.... it bubbles about 10 timnes a minute.....

im using home mix of bicarb and yeast what can i do to give more bubbles?

also how do i switch it off at night?
