Hi guys...I woke up this morning and found ALL MY BETTAS AND KRIBS DEAD! WHICH ARE ALSO ALL OF MY FISH!!! Only two three day old krib fry are left! *sigh* iunno what happened...maybe the temp went too high! I was crying for sooo long! Well.....at least wuv is gonna sell me some of her ct's! yay! and semper is probably gonna gimme 2 pink convicts! *sigh* i feel so bad :-( :byebye:

i'm sorry to hear about that, but were all them kept in the same tank? it seems weird that if they were kept in spereate tanks, that they would all die immediately and at the same time, since they don't share the same water.

If they died overnight like that, it could have been some kind of posion or fume that got in there somehow. I dont' think a high temperature (unless it's EXTREMELY high) could kill fish that quickly. What was the temp when they died?

well......it was 80f the usual! I have a suspition that the krib momma was sad she was canabalistic and ate all her babies and got all mad and killed her mate. as for the bettas...i think the male was thrashing too much for some dumb reason. as for the female betta...she hasn't eatin ever since i got her!~ :-( :byebye: :grr:

just exactly how many fish did you have and lost today? and how were they kept? could you provide us with what tank each fish was kept in..like where the bettas and kribs were? If kribs were kept in too small of a tank (10G was what you kept htem in right?) sometimes they will kill each other, i read on the net that it was possible. That's why a 20G was reocmmended.

It's unlikely that a betta will thrash himself to death. And chacnes of them all turning belly up at the same time is really weird. Did your family spray something inot the room (ie. air freshener, insect repellent) ora nything like that? it could ahve settled into the water and killed the fish.

well......im not sure cc! The female was protecting the fry normally but I found the male like he burried himself under the gravel! The female was stuck to the filter! Im sure the filter wasnt too strong! As for the betta...he was placed beside the 3g with 2 platies so he might have gotton excited and thrashed. the 10g had 2 kribs...5g 3 platies and 3g 2 platies and the female betta as for the 20g they didn't die well...there weren't any fish in they're anymore because they died b4 the other fish and Im cycleing the water hoping that my baby kribs will eventually grow big enough for it. and i'll probably put semp's convicts in there and put wuv's male in a 5g im gonna buy and the female with the platies in the 5g i have right now

eeep sounds bad..

did you do water changes recently?

maybe something in the water?

i really dont know..

i know my male krib killed the female after they bred.. and ate all the fry also..

so i donno..

its jus odd that the bettas and platies would die too :S

Wow...I can only imagine the heartbreak :-(

Sorry for your losses.

I am so sorry, that is one of my worst nightmares. I do know that Arashi has had two heat spikes in her house that have led to very rapid death. I hope the new fishies will make you feel better and tell those two kribbies to be strong :flex:

I know that one night (a few years ago) me and a girlfriend were talking on the phone and had both mentioned that we lost our goldfish that same day......we also put together a suspicion with the water because we had both done a water change the night before!!

Maybe they dump a bunch of chemicals in the water on a certain day every month or something.........

Just a thought!!! :dunno:

Sorry though.......
