Buying secondhand

i'm after a 2nd tank so i've started looking in the local
papers, seen a few good bargins, 4ft tanks with heaters
filters cabinet hood lights ext, some even offer a full set up
including fish wich i wouldn't realy want, for £50 the
highest priced i've seen advertised for is 6ft tank all
extras included, £100 now i thought that was a bargin. as
it cost me £300 when i bought mine from new, a lot of
people decide to get fish, dont research, fish die, they
get fed up and sell up, so if this is the case when you buy
their tank chances are that all equipment and tank will
still be fairly new.

Gotta watch with the electrics though. check them thouroughly. A lot of these peeps as you've said get fed up and sell. There could be unseen prob's due to them not having a clue and not doing any maintanence but for those prices it woukld be worth it for the tank alone, anything else that works is a bonus.

thank for that adeyc, yes i should definatly try all the
electrical equipment out before use plus i'd sterilize
every thing first.
