Buying Second Hand Tank With Fish...

Hello Haven't been here for a while, my tank is slowly but surely giving up the ghost so i have been searching for a bigger (mine is/was less than 50litres) so we are buying a tank second hand from someone, at the moment i have 10 neon tetras, 4 male guppies and a panda garra (yes i know the tank is too small!)

The ONLY fish i want to keep is my panda garra, happy to move the other fish on so please tell me what you would recommend. The tank is 2ftx1.5ftx1.5ft (approx 125 litres?) and contains:
A shark (i am presuming rainbow or silver), a catfish (unsure again!), what she describes as a "worm", 2 mollies, a fighter, 2 black widow tetra and "various other fish" approx 15 fish alltogether... what would you do?

I do not know if its just the photo but it looks very small for being 125 litres ? Have you actually measured it ?

I think it looks small because it's sitting on a cabinet with huge draws, photoes of tanks don't show their true beauty, I hope it's a good buy.

Going by Fishypps's dimensions, the calculator on this very site says 127 litres, so I'm guessing 120-125 litres is water volume as nobody brims their tank so it's sloshing over the sides.

It does look deceptively small though. I guess it's deep and it's certainly a little taller than a regular 2ft'er.

Hullo... it DOES look small... though it certainly looks larger than mine! lol. These are dimensions that i have been given, i too put it in a volume calculator and got 127l as my answer so rounded it down to 125. I haven't seen the tank in person yet, it's 20 miles away BUT i will have a good look at it before taking it home (though it will be emptied and fish bagged up etc for us to collect!) I have been told there is no damage but will scrutinise it when i get there!

Really what i wanted to know, is do those fish go together? I will sort out over stocking etc when they get here
