Do any of you buy fish online? Are they healthy, guaranteed? I have never tried it, but my lfs doesn't have a great variety, mostly regular fish. How does it work? Thanks for your help. I am new to this forum, but have learned so much from reading everyones postings.

Fin,

yes it's totaslly safe!! Just make sure you buy from a reputable breeder/supplier and one who offers a live arrival guarantee.

When you find a site for breeders who ship, there should be a section that tells you what their guarantee's are. Read it carefully!!

Feel free to post the supplier you may like to buy from and I can possibly tell you what their record is like. I know a good many breeders/suppliers and will be happy to help you out!!

woah nellie! you just got your answer from one of the most reputable mail order supplier/breeder. my suggestion? find the fish that you like and cichlidmaster will try to find it for you. if he can't he is not below suggesting another breeder/supplier who can.

Thank you both. I have been investigating different fish breeds. I have a community tank so need to stay away from aggressive fish. I use to have a huge Oscar, but gave him to a friend because wanted community fish. Oscars are awesome, but boring :-( . I like "different" fish. I do have 2 angelfish, but they don't bother any of the other fish. I have mostly small fish. Love my Honey Gouramis. Do you have any suggestions?

PS
I love this forum. Have learned so much in just a few days.

Get some oddball fish like polypterus they look like lizards eat like snakes but are preditors so they will eat smaller fish some of them can grow upto a foot long but feeding time is cool the kids love watching them. I've heard puffers are quite smart fish but if you fish that come to the front of the tank and look at you then get a green terror cichlid ( they are suppossed to be aggressive fish but mine is very peacful ) and gets on with all the other fish in my tank hope this helps a bit. Tymm.
