i want to buy a betta but im worried they will fight with my other fish

i have

2 golden danios
2 zebra danios
1 glass fish
4 tiger barbs
2 catfish
1 plec
2 scissortails
4 tetras
4 mollies

i know males fight with each other so what about a female

The betta wont do any of the fighting but you might find that the danios and/or barbs will harass/ nip the fins of the betta. I wouln'd try it...

its all relative about the females, youll just have to hope one isn't a bully

i believe a ten gallon tank is what betta breeders most commonly recommend, and it would be exclusively a breeding tank for the mating pair

off topic: do your homework, don't just rush into betta breeding like I did, you'll end up having to backtrack and spend alot of time and money undoing mistakes :D

yea.. them tiger barbs will probably be mean to the betta(s)

if you planned on breeding, a 5 gallon would be fine even... but read up before u begin to buy

Just a note- aside from when you're actually breeding them, I wouldn't keep the male and female in the same tank. And once the eggs are laid, you should separate them again. They generally don't get along well together at other times.
