Buy Sell Swap Feedback

I was just wondering whether it would be possible to add a feedback system to the forum. - So that people can report on their Buy/Sell/swap posts. Like when a person makes a post underneath their name and aviatar picture it could have a 'feedback points' and 'feedback score (as a %)' Like the ebay system so people can see if the person is reliable. Another forum i use does this - Pleco Fanatics. Then if someone buys something , they can leave a comment and select either negative, neutral or positive so that other people can see if they are reliable.

we've talked about this before and i'm fairly sure the answer would be no.

problem is firstly this forum doesn't support the technology to do it, so it'd need a big change around firstly, second is that anything like that has to be moderated, you've got to have some sort of dispute system, you get people mis using it and giving people they don't like negative feedback etc etc. It's a lot of work for the mods for no real benefits for the forum.

If you want to buy off someone but are unsure if they're decent/genuine then ask them if they've sold to anyone else on the forum, like a reference. Any decent seller will be only too happy to give this, if they won't then that's your first warniing sign that they may be dodgy.

I my self have been ripped off by someone well known on this site and know other people in the same boat with the same Person!!!!

And as soon as we get a way to tell everyone we'll be happy to do so......

The idea is behind is a worthwhile one, but the PF feedback system certainly isn't perfect from a user or adminstration point of view. It's limitations mean you have to work with it rather than it working for you...and until those things are sorted I wouldn't be inclined to implement it (assuming it was up to me).

well if every started a thread on who to watch the mods will not be able to stop all of them!!!!! we should have something warning who's been ripped off.....

nice idea, but imo it doesn't really work as well in practise. Threats of slander and possible law suits aside. Often the reason why a deal may have gone wrong is nearly always down to something which cannot be easily proved to a third party across the internet. So it usually ends up with a slanging match between two parties who are both giving their own version of the truth, and depending on the rules associated with that forum, potentially other members jumping in to vouch for one or other party and so joining in on the slanging match.
Imo, you'd do much better spending your time producing a best practise\safety guide when buying fish online or from another member than doing this.

I've been ripped off and still annoyed even now.
I've only said about it once in the open forum as this "Kid" uses this place a lot.

But we should have something, but it would only work on honesty. Which never works in a forum for the reasons u say.
However if i could stop some being ripped off in the same way then I'll happily do so.

Sorry to rant and don't want to turn this into a rant thread.
This would be good though if something was possible.

Also as a tip to other's never post anything till you been payed even to a "so called friend" as they may never send you any money in then end!!!!!!
This is what happens when u think your helping someone!!!!!!!
