Hi guys ihave a 4ft community tank with various fish.

4 silver sharks
5 black nens
2 female fighters
1 angel
1 8'' plec
1 3'' plec
6 cory's
2 horse faced loach
3 opaline gourami
2 golden gourami
3 columbian tetra
2 lyretail killifish
2 guppys

I am wanting a butterfly fish to finish the tank off but i have been told that they can be nasty. all my fish are very calm and get along with each other and i dont want to disrupt the tank.

could anyone give me some information on these fish?

thans, matty

They completely Ignore any fish that isnt a surface-dweller.

Hence why they carn't be kept with other surface-dwellers, like your guppys.

I wouldn't want to see that happen

do you know that silver sharks will get 14+ inches long and that they will need a much bigger tank?

5 black nens
2 female fighters
2 lyretail killifish
2 guppys
all of those are not only potential food for the ABF but also for the silver sharks

2 silver sharks are 5'' long and 2 are 3'' long. i know a person who works at the local sea life cente and he said when they get to big he will take them.

When you say butterfly fish, i asume you are referring to the african butterfly fish? There are quite few fish that fall under the common name of butterfly fish you see.
Personally i wouldn't put such a fish in the tank as the gourami's will inhabit the same sort of area as the butterfly fish, i've read that african butterfly fish can be territorial towards fish which occupy the same area as it.
