Burmese Loach

They are similar to most other botia in terms of personality and care.

They'll eat most foods (flake, pellets, bloodworms, shrimps, etc.) that sink to the bottom.

They have a very noticeable color/pattern change as they age. They begin mostly golden with black bars (not much difference than botia histrionica or rostrata) and as they age, the black areas extend along the lateral line, and they take on a polka dotted appearance (black with golden dots).

They're about the same as zebra loaches.

Their activity level will depend on how large a group they're in, and how comfortable they feel. On the whole though, they tend towards shy like most botia.

I have 4 (with 5 zebras, an older yoyo loach, bristlenoses, an old otto, and rainbowfish). The largest one is very shy, and I see him rarely. The other three are more active and do swim around the tank, although not constantly.

They sell 3 for £10 in my lsf so they might be next on my list, need to make/buy a couple of caves tho first.
Also want some coolie loaches, don't know if I'm gonna end up overstocking the tank floor tho!

I also have one biggerzebra loach that hides away in the cave. Is the alpha male? The other 2 always tease it to come out and he just chases him away. Mines are are starting to get less shy now.
I got 5 in a 30 gallon tank. Was thing of getting Queen loaches too.
