Burmese Chocolate Gourami?

Anyone know anything about these little guys? Also known as false chocolate gouramis or eyespot gouramis. Picked one up at the LFS today and it seems to be doing well so far. A bit larger than the sparkling gouramis that I have. Body shape is similar but coloring is a bit more like a chocolate gourami (not as brown though). Will try to post a pic later if I can catch him out in the open.

Only info that I could find online so far is here. Info is a little outdated it seems. Mine was eating flake food just fine after just a few hours. Doesn't seem to be as shy or finicky about water conditions as the real chocolate gourami. Only other sites that I could find with a substantial amount of info about them were either in German or Japanese.

I love these I can't think of anything special to say about them though - I mean they are great little characters but can be a little aggressive at times. They aren't overly-fussy about anything but enjoy a densely planted tank with smaller, peaceful tank-mates. Live foods will bring out their colors better and they look nothing like chocolates realy. They are like caring for a slightly more fragile croaker IMO. That's about it I think you already new all that... Anyway, good luck with it and I look forward to seeing some pics

Still working on getting some pics, just haven't had time lately. But just wanted to say that these guys are pretty adorable. They have fatter heads than bodies which is kinda funny cause they look so cute when you look at them head on. And their colors come out much more in lower light / darker water.

I currently have 2 males and for the longest time they were quite peaceful, even swimming with each other whenever they caught sight of the other. But the other night they got into a full out fight which was quite interesting to watch. They circle each other in a rather tight circle and at a more languid pace than I'm used to seeing when it comes to fish aggression and not only did they do the occassional nip on the fins/body routine, they actually duked it out mouth to mouth. Not sure why it happened (it was around feeding time) but it only lasted a few minutes. Haven't seen them do it again yet but will keep a close eye on them to make sure neither of them gets hurt.

A shot of a flamingo gourami. First time I've heard of these. Seems just like smaller honey gouramis (about half the size) and with a more reddish/pinkish cast:

Is the flamingo smaller than the sparkler as, if it is, it's probably just a baby honey with a fancy name and kind of weird coloring

Those are some cool fish. I've never heard of a flamingo gourami. I wish I could find chocolate gouramis but I've never seen them locally.
