Well, the original tank was part of my first ever tropical tank, including the mini heater. You could get a 5G bare tank for £15 from your lfs, a similar heater would probably cost you £15-20.
The filter is made by Resun that i bought in a reptile store for £10. It came with a mini spray bar and 2 compartments. I replaced the sponge with crushed alfagrog and carbon.
Lighting is a 11W lumminaire that also has a UV light built in, although i don't use it anymore as i didn't see any gains by using it. It cost £25 from Wildwoods.
Theres probably about 2KG of LR in there, so thats about £20-25 worth.
Coral sand is TMC, a 4KG pack costs about £3.90.
Corals and inverts are up to you, i've spent about £15 on corals for the tank as most of them are frags from work and friends. I have a boxing crab, a sexy shrimp, 2 hermits and a turbo snail in there, so thats about £33 worth of inverts.
So all in all you could be looking at spending about £100 (£98.90 on above prices).
